For your social issue project:
1. Create a Vision Statement
- These steps provide a good starting point:
- 1. State how your organization would function in a dream scenario.
- 2. Connect your organization’s dreams to broader hopes for progress.
- 3. Define how you’re going to make the world a better place in the future through your products and services.
2. Create a Mission Statement (A good mission statement is focused, direct, and honest about the marketplace in question as well as the organization’s capabilities)
- A mission statement is written by answering these questions:
- Who are we?/Define who you are.
- What do we make or do?/Define what you do now and for whom
- Why do we exist as an enterprise?/Define what you want to do in the future
3. Create a Value Proposition (a concise statement of the benefits that you are is delivering to stakeholders/customers who you are helping).
- An example of value proposition is "We develop spaces for people to be their complete and authentic selves"
4. Develop four (4) SMART goals for your social projects.
- Goals should be stated in precise terms that are appropriate for the marketplace.
- They should be reasonable, influenced by a detailed understanding of the marketplace and the competition, and attainable.
- SMART stands for specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and timely.
5. Write a brief story for your social project using a problem-solution narrative
- The problem-solution narrative concisely introduces a specific problem that affects many people and presents the good or service as an innovative, unique, and insightful solution.
- For an entrepreneur, a problem-solution narrative is like the origin story for their offering.
