2.2 - OER Repositories
These two videos introduce a workflow for finding and evaluating Open Educational Resources. If you are planning to create your own OER, these videos will also offer some ideas for where to share them.
You may have noticed from these videos that the process of evaluating OERs is not too dissimilar from the process of searching for and vetting proprietary resources for your students. Librarians are working hard to create an OER ecosystem where resources are cataloged and instructor reviews are easily accessible. Facilitating the exchange of use and evaluation information amongst academic peers is crucial for the development of that ecosystem. This is why you will most often find the Scholarly Communications Librarian at any given institution leading the charge for OER development.
